Just outside Annapolis Royal, in Upper Clements, there are two parks side by side that are a big tourist draw to the Annapolis Valley. The main park is the Upper Clements Amusement Park with rides and many other attractions. Directly across from the theme park is the wildlife park.
Some of the major highlights at the amusement park are the roller coaster and water flume ride. But there are many other rides for all visitors. For the kids there is the carousel, airplanes, and little bumper boats. There is also a whole children's area which has a wading pool, playground and a mini golf course. In case you are not a rides kind of person, there are other fun things to do. You could take a leisurely ride in the pedal boats, or take a trip around the park on the Evangeline train.
Besides the rides and attractions there are also neat shops and eateries. The park also puts on regular entertainment during the season including musical acts. On Saturday nights throughout the season the park opens up at night with rides opening back up, concerts and fireworks.
The wildlife park has many domestic animals which all live in very natural enclosures. Some of the animals which can be seen in the park are deer, eagles, wild cats, and there are also Sable Island horses. Probably the most entertaining animals are the Black bears. They put on a show called the Teddy Bears Picnic. During this time they actually sit up on their picnic table and eat a meal for everyone to watch.
