Middleton Nova Scotia

With the geographically location of Middleton placing it in the centre of the Annapolis Valley, its name is most fitting. Going along with this fact Middleton touts itself as the Heart of the Valley.

Middleton owes its growth mainly to the railroads. A large station was constructed and with people travelling and stopping in Middleton they of course would need a place to stay, so hotels started to be built. From there the area continued to grow.

Middleton was incorporated in 1909 and today has a population of roughly 1800 people and growing. It is a wonderful spot for tourists or to make home. Each July Middleton celebrates the Heart of the Valley Festival, this is a great time to come and see Middleton with many events taking place over the three day celebration.

Middleton is a beautiful community and is one of the few places in Canada to raise children & not having to worry about them playing outside & be kidnapped. The people there are very friendly and helpful. If I was starting my family again, I would definitely be there. My son & I were both raised in Middleton & have lots of fond memories. I highly recommend it. Great for seniors as well. All the best. M.E.
